Watermelon Tourmaline Butterfly Pendant

Let your jewelry take flight! This butterfly pendant has unusual carved watermelon tourmaline wings and a gold body. Watermelon tourmaline is so named for its natural rough formation of pink center and green 'rind.' When it forms as a crystal, the outside is a green outer color with a pink interior, just like watermelon. These pieces have been cut into wings. The wings are set by a small wire frame along the back outside edge with tiny prongs wrapping around to the front to hold them secure. The gold frame 'reads through' just slightly to give the wings a nice outline. The center 'body' is gold. It is light, airy, and feminine- and perfect for spring or a summer dress.
